Kamala Harris

 Kamala Devi Harris (born October 20, 1964) was an American lawyer, politician and vice president of the United States. She is the first female vice-president and the highest ranking female official in the United America. Harris is a member of the Democratic Party and was previously the attorney general of California between 2011 and 2017. In addition she served as an United States senator representing California between 2017-2021. Harris was born in Oakland and attended Howard University, University of California, Hastings College of the Law. Following her first job as an Alameda County District Attorney Harris was hired to the San Francisco District Attorney's Office. Then she was appointed the City Attorney of San Francisco. In 2003, she was elected San Francisco District Attorney. Harris was elected Attorney-General of California in 2010, and reelected in 2014. Harris was the junior member of the United States Senate from California between 2017 and 2021. Harris defeated Loretta Martinez in 2016's Senate election to become the second African American woman and first South Asian American senator to be elected to the United States Senate. Harris was a senator who fought for health care and federal de-scheduling of cannabis. A path to citizenship for immigrants who are not legally recognized. The DREAM Act bans assault weapons and progressive tax reform. Her pointed questioning of Trump officials in Senate hearings has garnered the attention of the nation, including the second Supreme Court nominee, Brett Kavanaugh who was indicted with sexual assault.
